RECITAL at Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Dubai
Yana Mann
will perform a one night only
solo show
at
the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library
May 25, 2023.
The Dubai-based mezzo-soprano will perform song cycles: 11 Poemas de Bar Op. 12 and Arias Florentinas Op. 15 in a not-to-be-missed concert at a stunning new performing arts venue in Dubai.
These intimate, deeply confessional and often dark compositions were written by the Colombian-born, Brooklyn-based composer and pianist Julian De La Chica. Yana debuted the pieces with Julian in a sold out concert at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City in February 2022.
A landmark musical event in the Dubai calendar, Yana’s musical passion and exquisite voice will delight the audience at the recently opened Theatre of Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, a state of the art, ultra modern performing arts venue in Dubai.
For her performance in Dubai on May 25, Yana will wear a stage costume designed by Obra Gris. Designed especially for the event, the layered look echoes the shape of the venue that is based on an open book. Creative director of Obra Gris, Oscar Ruiz-Schmidt says, “The costume is comprised of a three panel draped liquid neon charmeuse satin silk, which is a staple in the Obra Gris alphabet. It has added layers of organza, and a trench coat from our TENFOLD collection that has been reinterpreted and oversized with an added movement value in the cuts, to enhance Yana’s poetic presence and movement.”
Yana’s jewelry for the concert will be provided by Nadine Kanso's UAE-based brand Bilarabi, specifically her recently launched Hobb (Love) collection that embodies a majestic and noble feeling that is necessary for humanity to live in peace.
